Isaac’s History
Isaac was born June 26, 2009 and is one of six children total. His father died in June of 2018 due to complications from diabetes and high blood pressure. The responsibility of raising the children fell solely to his mother, who was operating a small retail shop out of the family home. Though she is quite industrious, the shop had little inventory and did not earn enough money to meet the large family’s needs, let alone provide extra for school fees. Her first born was forced to drop out of school after Senior Four, and the youngest had not yet attended school- all due to non-payment.
Recently, Isaac’s family acquired a small piece of land. According to his mother, ownership of land and a house in town has contributed a lot towards the family economic empowerment because she is able to sell whatever she can grow, be her own boss, and not worry about rent. In addition to the vegetable stall she sells milk and fried pancakes. She is a model candidate for our FASTrack program with her endless energy and enthusiasm.
