My Story

Background

Martin Oscar Lwanga comes from a family of 8 members. His mother, Teopista, is a farmer who earns a living from small scale piggery and growing food crops. Oscar’s father is a drunkard and does casual labor when able to. He was stopped by the community leaders from getting close to his family because he was violent and a danger to the family.

All Oscar’s siblings are school going, but Teopista struggles to pay their school fees and personal requirements to enable them stay in school. They’re irregular in school because of defaulting school fees. The family owns a small piece of land where they grow food crops and keep their pigs.
