Our team is glad to report that Children of Uganda’s sponsored students are happy, healthy and comfortable at school. 5 partner schools were visited to follow-up on everyone’s back-to-school status, including Shimoni Demonstration School (our newest primary partner school), Mbuye Farm School, St. Nicholas Mannya, Kamuli Primary School and Royal College Secondary School.
For our newest class of students, boarding school is a big adjustment as this is the first time they have ever been away from their families. However, they are very happy to be sponsored by COU and excited to learn. Take a look!
During school monitoring, students informed staff that their teachers are always available to help them in classes and when needed for extra consultation. They report that their dormitories are safe and comfortable, their feeding is good and that they are “served enough food on time.”
Some students received new uniforms to replace their worn-out clothes, and the most vulnerable students that had returned to school with insufficient personal requirements were given their requirements. Exercise books donated by Digiprint Systems, Uganda Ltd and Maynard Colors, Ltd. were also distributed.
