Women Empowering Women

Irene’s world shattered when her mother passed away from leukemia in April of 2021, but Children of Uganda’s 100 Women Club members helped her pick up the pieces.

Irene received training and financial assistance to start-up her own tailoring business. In addition, she and her siblings were given 6 months of rent, food and counseling following the death of their mom.

Today, this young family is thriving and Irene is forever grateful for the support she received in her greatest time of need.

With an annual membership of $100, you can join The 100 Women Club to help a Ugandan woman pursue her dreams – all while improving the well-being and economic security of her entire family:

Children of Uganda has supported hundreds of women and their families with invaluable knowledge and skills training to manage their own Income Generating Activities (IGAs) – just like Jenesta Nakkade.

Jenesta was selected to participate in the first phase of IGAs supported by The 100 Women Club. She received skills training, farm implements, fertilizers and quality seeds to boost her production. Jenesta learned how to cultivate the land, grow her business and build up a savings. And, the output from Jenesta’s garden tripled that first season! Her children now receive nutritious meals and she’s able to afford other vital necessities.

Jenesta had no hope before Children of Uganda – she told us this word for word. But thanks to The 100 Women Club, she is building an empire to secure her family’s future.

“I am confident that even if Children of Uganda left me today, I can continue to educate my children with the foundation I’ve been given.”
