TYPE OF IGA PROJECT: Piggery
Immaculate lost her husband in 2004 and has ever since been the sole provider for their 8 children (including Children of Uganda sponsored student Kelly Mukisa). With the little amount of money she had saved, Immaculate started selling clothes and shoes door-to-door and at the village market. By 2012, all of her capital was lost. She decided to embark on farming with consent from her relatives who own land. She grows cassava, sweet potatoes, bananas (Matooke) and beans. She also owns 10 pigs (7 piglets and 3 grown pigs) and rears 15 local poultry birds. She would like to expand her piggery project in order to grow her business and become self-supporting for her large family.
