Dearest Prossie,
Saying goodbye is never easy and especially to someone who has been such a valued team member. I am truly grateful that our paths met at Children of Uganda and it has been a great honor working with you. Thank you for your diligent service to COU over the past 10 years. Your contributions have been so evident and significant. Your hard work and dedication have played an integral role on our team and you are indeed an epitome of excellence.
Specifically, I would like to express my gratitude to you for your tremendous role as head of the Sponsorship department. The achievements of COU’s sponsorship program are due in large part to your leadership, hard work and commitment to quality.
On behalf of COU, we are grateful that we placed our trust and confidence in your abilities for all those years. You did not disappoint, but rather delivered beyond expectation. You built a strong team and this was only possible through your commitment of time and effort. Thank you for your continued commitment to the values, vision and mission of COU over the years.
We shall remember you for your love of the children, the impact you created in their lives and in the lives of everyone here. Words are inadequate to express our gratitude and appreciation of the unparalleled work performance and attitude you’ve displayed during your tenure.
We love you and wish you the best in all your endeavors now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Ritah Namakula
Program Director
And, as we say a fond farewell to our teammate and friend Prossie, we would like to welcome Tendo Namata (pictured below) as our new Sponsorship Coordinator. Tendo officially joined COU’s team on November 12th, 2018 and said she is most excited for the opportunity “to change a child’s life every day.”
Tendo is a Mass Communications graduate who has dedicated her life to changing the status quo of children and women within vulnerable or minority groups.
She spent 2 years working in the rural areas of western Uganda as a community and education outreach fellow under Building Tomorrow. As a fellow, she was essential in helping communities access quality education and ensuring community empowerment.
Tendo also successfully piloted the Village Gender Team model under Embibo Gender Initiative in Kamwenge that helped mitigate gender-based violence in school communities. Tendo is passionate about creating a better world for vulnerable communities with a special interest in women and children. Her strengths are in writing, communication and innovative problem solving.
