Children of Uganda hosts an annual gathering with sponsored children and their guardians at the beginning of each new year. This year, two meetings were held: one at Sabina Primary Boarding School on January 24th and another at Kiwanga on January 31st respectively. 207 guardians and 176 COU supported students attended these meetings. 9 COU staff members were present, including Executive Director, Pamela Brannon.
To celebrate the many achievements of our students over the past year, 15 children (nominated by teachers and COU staff) were rewarded under various categories for all academic levels, including: “Best Performing Student,” “Most Improved Academic Performer,” “Best Disciplined Student,” etc. A prize for “Best IGA Project Progress” was also awarded to 100 Women Club beneficiary and guardian, Jenesta. We are so proud of everyone!
During these meetings, guardians are also updated on COU developments regarding new programs, policies and/or procedures. We also bring in speakers to discuss relevant information on child rights, motivation, nutrition, interpersonal relations and other relevant topics. This time, we invited a parenting facilitator to share ways of developing healthy and supportive relationships within the family unit.
We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.
This policy applies to all information received by Children of Uganda, both online and offline, on any Platform (“Platform”, includes the Children of Uganda’s website and mobile applications), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
