Growing bodies squeeze into ill fitting clothes. No amount of washing can repair the rips, tears and stains. It’s time to buy their children new clothes; and yet, for parents and guardians facing ongoing economic loss and food insecurity – there is little or nothing left.
The more time our students spend at home and not in school, the harder it is on their clothing and shoes. Whether it’s playing in a tree or in the dirt, helping to cook a family meal, cleaning or perhaps just getting messy in one of the countless ways kids do – it shows on their clothes. And, especially for our younger ones, many have simply outgrown what they own.
Clothing is a basic need – but, it also means so much more. For a young person, what you wear has such an impact on how you feel and how you move about the world. We want our students to move with the confidence, self-love and self-worth that they deserve.
